Privacy Notice
The Muslimah Psychology is responsible for looking after your personal information.
What I collect
Your contact details, date of birth, emergency contact and GP details, information about your wellbeing and mental health, and notes from our sessions. For children, I also collect details of their parent or carer.
Why I collect it
To respond to your enquiry, arrange and provide therapy, take payment, and keep you and others safe.
My legal basis
I use your information to provide the service you have agreed to. Because health information is especially sensitive, I only use it for providing therapy, under a duty of confidentiality. In rare cases, I may need to share it to protect someone from serious harm.
How I store it
Your information is kept securely on Halaxy, which is password protected. Paper notes, if any, are stored in a locked cabinet.
Who I share it with
I will not share your information without your consent, except where:
- there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else
- there is a safeguarding concern about a child or adult at risk
- I am required to by law
I discuss my work with a clinical supervisor, but never share anything that could identify you.
How long I keep it
Adult records are kept for 7 years after therapy ends. Children’s records are kept until they turn 25, or for 7 years after therapy ends if that is later. Records are then securely deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected, or in some cases have it deleted or restricted. To do this, email themuslimahpsychology@gmail.com.
