About The Therapist
Assalaamu’alaykum, I’m Amina. I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist (Member of the BACP), Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (BABCP accredited) and a graduate Alimah, with over ten years’ experience studying and working in mental health and psychology.
I’m passionate about helping women overcome and manage their fears, worries and emotions so they can improve their mental health and find tranquility and peace.
I believe that working on our mental health allows us to live life to the fullest and in turn become stronger, more resilient Muslims.
My approach is completely non-judgemental and genuinely empathic. Many Muslims hesitate to seek therapy for fear of being judged or stigmatised, especially when approaching it through an Islamic lens. But Islam teaches us the highest form of compassion through the names of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Most Loving, and The Most Gentle and Kind, each reflecting mercy, compassion, and freedom from judgement.
So if fear of judgement or stigma has been holding you back, please know that this is a space where you can bring your whole, authentic self, be heard, and come to understand yourself more deeply.
Whatever you may be struggling with, I’m here to help so you don’t have to work through it alone.

Our Approach
The Muslimah Psychology offers counselling and psychotherapy through the lens of Islamic psychology and modern psychological approaches such as CBT and person-centred therapy. This is an integrative therapeutic style, working with Islamic principles as the foundation and core element to help Muslim women find peace and tranquility in their lives.
The person-centred approach means you’re able to bring what matters most to you and help shape the direction of the sessions together. This allows the therapist to tailor the work to your unique needs.
Referral Process
You’ll be offered a free 30-minute trial session, so you can get a feel for therapy before committing, ask any questions, and work out which support is the best fit for you.
